Today was MLK Day, a day set aside to remember the greatness that was Martin Luther King, Jr himself. Instead of our usual #MotivationMonday post, we’re honoring the late, great MLK. One of the things that made him so great was his undying message of love, especially towards those who hate you.
It was a message that was undying because even as MLK’s detractors, as well as the detractors of the Civil Rights Movement, spat vitriol, hate, and venom, MLK shouted back messages of love, acceptance, and unity. And when you think about it, he was right after all: hate takes too much energy, too much strength, and is far too great a burden to have. It’s much, much easier (and simpler) to love.
