It’s been a long time. Too long. But fear ye not; Word Play is back.
Through the Fire happens to be the title of a popular 1980s Chaka Khan song as well as the title of a semi-autobiographical novel by Harriet Cammock. Both artistic works, the latter of which I edited myself, tell of overcoming insurmountable tribulations. These tribulations are paralleled with the idea of walking through a fire.
As painful, as searingly hot, as absolutely unbearable as it is for you to walk through whatever fire you have, remember that two minority women managed to do it so well that they wrote about it afterwards. And if they could do it, you can do it too.
